![]() So the question is how to determine transformOrigin to use in GSAP. The problem is that it is a matrix transformation which has both a -90 degree rotation and a scale: transform = "matrix(0,-0.95087276,1.0516654,0,0,0)" I want it to bounce, and that would seem to require a transform of some sort (i.e changing y). The better statement is that I can't see any effect, rather than it isn't working. Ok, I see the ease:Back.easeOut is changing the opacity in the example. ![]() I think I need to learn how to do it right in GSAP. Those seem to be to remove a transform for a group (g element). □Īdded later: I looked at the Inkscape fixes. If I change it on CodePen will it change in this topic, or is this a copy? (It doesn't look like it is.) I'm new to CodePen, too. I will work on that however, I would like to understand why it is not working as is. I looked at the link for trying to fix it in Inkscape. They are the same, so I don't see what the transform is doing. Possibly I need a different transform, but at the moment I don't know how to determine one.īTW I have looked at x, y, and rotate before and after the tween. But then rotate does nothing and also ease:Back.easeOut does nothing. ![]() However, taking it off fixes the problem. I need the transform, because I also want to translate and rotate. And I guess I could just have left it off. I appreciate, though, your information that there is a better way to do none. I was using another ease and changed it to this for the example. I have simplified what I actually want to do. And I would still have the problem if it weren't white. ![]() Thanks Zach, but the white text is not the problem. ![]()

Generally, we would urge everyone to set the protocol to OpenVPN UDP, but you can read about the other options in our VPN protocol breakdown. However, ExpressVPN has labeled both of these as “weak security,” and we agree. The recommended protocol is OpenVPN, but there is also the choice of L2TP and PPTP. ExpressVPN has been featured on a number of our best VPN streaming lists for this reason, including our best VPN for Netflix and best VPN for Amazon Prime Video (read our how to watch Hulu with ExpressVPN and how to watch Netflix with ExpressVPN guides). Hulu, Netflix and Amazon all worked flawlessly with videos loading in quickly and looking sharp. We noticed an option in the settings to “scramble” our VPN traffic, which claims that it can bypass network traffic sensors that are aimed at detecting and blocking VPN usage. With IPVanish we were able to get through to Netflix without a problem, but every other streaming service we tried blocked us out. This is great for convenience but can yield some hit-or-miss results. While some VPN services have dedicated streaming servers - such as Windscribe, which you can read about in our best VPN for Hulu article - ExpressVPN and IPVanish both forego this and instead seem to try to support streaming across all servers. So for about 6 months they could smack around the Core 2 Quad and charge $250 for the x4 965, and then they got destroyed by the $200 i5 750. So, the Phenom II is as close as AMD ever got post-Conroe to being competitive with Intel, and that's back when they had mountains of cash to throw around. And when they were tested, the Phenom II nearly matched the Core 2 Quad 45nm, but took 30w more power to make it happen:īut then 6 months later Intel released Lynnfield, which had 95% of the performance and features of the i7 920 without the extra 30w of overkill platform I/O power: Both companies had a promising architecture shrunk from 65nm and tweaked. The last time AMD had the same process node as Intel and similar performance was the 45nm Phenom II. They'd probably be starting out at around Sandy Bridge in terms of performance per clock.īut can they do it, and be power-competitive? ![]() And it can get very high utilization of those units thanks to the high bandwidth, low-latency cache architecture, plus the hyperthreading to feed the unused units when the first thread can't.ĪMD can certainly build a core with similar integer IPC to Intel, but I doubt it. Only two out of three of those things actually happened, so we were blessed with the trainwreck that was Bulldozer at 3.5-4 GHz.īy comparison, Haswell can execute up to 4 integer instructions per clock. So the architecture was designed to get LESS done per clock, add slightly more cores, and clock the thing at 5+ GHz at a reasonable power level (to get higher performance than the Phenom II using less resources). Shared decoders reduces fully-loaded scaling by a further 10% versus Phenom II.Īnd high-latency big caches are designed for running at high clock speeds, but cost you some throughput versus a low-latency cache. ~50% less FPU throughput per-core (not as bad as the above) The key differences form it's predecessor the Phenom II were:ģ3% less integer execution units per core (this hurts the most). Right, when AMD announced the Bulldozer architecture people were scratching their heads in confusion. They need a radically redesigned and optimized architecture, shrunk to a smaller process (Intel is on 14nm now for crying out loud! The FX series is 32nm, that SEVERAL GENERATIONS behind.) The rumors that AMD is working on a new architecture with one floating point unit per core is probably good, but that alone won't make up very much in the performance deficit to intel. So, unless you are running code heavy in 256bit floating point math, this will have no impact what so ever. Sure, the two cores in a module share an FPU, but it is a 256bit FPU, and it has the ability to split itself into two dedicated 128bit FPU's, one dedicated to each integer core. However, I think this particular aspect of it has been overblown. Bulldozer and on has been a total failure. Just look at any single threaded benchmark, and you'll find AMD's FX architecture performing as little as HALF the performance, clock for clock, compared to Sandy Bridge and newer Intel chips. Even if you do a single threaded comparison (where this should have no impact at all, because you are only loading one of them, so there is no sharing), the AMD architecture is WAAAAY behind. It contributes to the problem, but it is a minor part to it. It's one of the loudest arenas I've ever been in, and the student section situation is emphatic. McCarthey Athletic Center holds approximately 6,000 people, which is just cozy enough to feel like an intimate environment but also large enough to feel like big-time college hoops. If you’re after the simplest presentation, and the extra features are not important, you can choose a “ minimalistic skin”, like Minimal or Atom. For single events it might be better to choose a lightbox-first skin that's built around the slideshow, although not as useful for navigating deeper folder structures. For complex, multi-level albums it’s wise to choose a robust skin with strong navigation support and search. It boils down to what type of content you usually create. The good news is that we are planning on renewing Chameleon this year. I know this disappointed quite a few users. ![]() Development of the hugely popular Chameleon skin was halted a decade ago with no descendant. Tiger inherited most of the features, styles, and layout from Turtle. Once a skin gets to the point where its underlying technology gets hopelessly dated, we can either choose to rewrite the skin from the ground up, or to bring out a new skin that mimics the old one. This happened with Google Maps in 2017, for example, and with Facebook sharing after the 2016 US election. PayPal, Google Maps, and Facebook might no longer work these external services retire their old interfaces (API’s) regularly. But even on desktops and laptops, you might have problems with integrations. Naturally, if you don’t care about mobile visitors, there’s nothing wrong with old skins. But Flash no longer works in any current browser, so we’ve removed all of the Flash skins. Historically, there were also some Flash-based skins in our skin repository, like the once very popular Fotoplayer skin. Using a modern skin is not only important for the visitors’ sake, but Google and other search engines give a higher rank to web pages that embrace modern standards. This is what sets Turtle apart from Tiger, for example. That’s why all new skins are based on responsive web design, which allows the album to adapt to the visitor’s device. These not only have smaller screens, but also don’t have a pointing device (i.e., a mouse), which might render old albums a pain to navigate. Today more than 50 percent of site visitors use a mobile device. ![]() The single most important change of the past decade in web design is the rapid spread of mobile devices. However, times are changing, new devices appear with different screens and different capabilities, there are new standards, new browsers emerge, and those old albums become almost unusable on these new devices. It looks odd when the older albums use a different skin. I know it’s a pain changing the skin when you are building a large gallery and want to add new albums every now and then. ![]() ![]() ![]() If I did a ton of tuning, could I squeeze out a smaller file size?
